The first “Coaches Poll” for the 2008 college football season was released today, with the University of Central Florida Knights finding their way into the “Others Receiving Votes” pack. Their 2 points means that they’ve either been ranked as the number 24 team by one coach, or as the number 25 team by two coaches. The return value of knowing which scenario took place is very low, so I’ll leave it up to you the reader to investigate further.
As for other Florida schools in the top-25, South Florida comes in at number 21 and the Florida Gators are ranked at number 5. The number 1 spot goes to Georgia, followed by USC, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
Florida State is also in the “Others Receiving Votes” group, although they managed 53 points and are only four places from the top-25. Miami doesn’t appear anywhere in the list.
