Sophisticated and independent Orlando?

With the title, “Little Orlando”, CNNMoney.com and Forbes Small Business Magazine have listed 9 ways that “sophisticated business travelers can find several independently run options” other than the “corporate theme parks” to stay entertained while in town.

In my opinion, the list is a bit odd for “sophisticated” visitors coming to The City Beautiful. It includes a store that sells only magnets and also violates it’s own mission by including Aquatica (the new SeaWorld water park), which is owned by Anheuser-Busch. Have magnets crossed over into the world of art and are therefore considered sophisticated? At 3 for $10, I’d guess not.

The remainder of the items on the list land closer to the mark, but not enough to make much sense out of the list as a whole. I think we at Living Orlando could do much better

The CNNMoney.com and Forbes Small Business Magazine list …

  1. Aquatica
  2. Graze
  3. John Craig Clothier
  4. Corona Cigar Co.
  5. Sky Venture Orlando / Wallaby Ranch
  6. Starabilias / Magnetron
  7. Beacon
  8. Euro Day Spa & Salon
  9. Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

Come back tomorrow for Living Orlando’s list of sophisticated spots in Orlando.
