There’s live music just about every night at The Social in downtown Orlando, but only a few nights a year sell out in advance. This Thursday night is one of those times, with Cobra Starship headlining and guests Metro Station and The Cab also taking the stage.
Now, I have to be honest. I hadn’t heard of any of these bands prior to being e-mailed about the show, but after taking a look at their websites and listening to some of their music, I’m pretty excited about getting to see them live. I’ve only been to The Social a few times, and being in a packed house should provide for some good fun.
The band we’ll be watching closely is Metro Station. Their development company, RED, contacted us about doing a review of the show. Apparently, they’ve been on quite a run lately, with an iTunes “Single of the Week” and growing play on alternative radio. The single, titled “Shake It”, can be heard on YouTube along with a video of sorts. The band features a familiar name, Trace Cyrus, brother of the ultra-popular “Hannah Montana”.
If you’re heading to The Social on Thursday, stop by Living Orlando on Friday to add your review to ours. If you happen to spot us at the club, let us know what you think and we’ll add your thoughts to the site.
