“Watering Hole” - A social gathering place, such as a bar or saloon, where drinks are served.
What places are your favorites?

Gator’s Dockside has been a favorite watering hole of mine for a number of years. With their superior wings and dozens of televisions tuned into sporting events, it’s the perfect place to grab a beer with the guys. Ten years ago, there were only a few Gators locations in town. Nowadays, they’re everywhere, and I think some of the newer locations are doing things better than the original spots.
More recently, Johnny’s Fillin’ Station on the corner of Ferncreek and Michigan in Orlando has proven itself to be a great spot for a burger and a beer. In fact, if we ever do a Friday Favorites on “Best Hamburgers”, expect Johnny’s to be at the top of my list. In addition to the brews and the food, there are pool tables, dart boards, plenty of TVs and live music to keep you entertained.

If you’re a beer lover, the place to be is the Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot. A lively atmosphere and a great selection of beers on tap make this a must-visit locale for locals and visitors alike.
If wine is more your thing, I’d recommend the Eola Wine Company. While there is a location in Winter Park, the downtown location (situated off of Lake Eola) gives the best view and ambiance, especially if the weather is nice enough to sit outside.
If you’re in the mood for liquor, however, there is one drink at one local bar that must be tried at least once in your lifetime - the Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Served in a carved-out pineapple, the Lapu Lapu packs a wallop as it contains a variety of juices, rum and is topped off with Bacardi 151. Stick an umbrella in it and lounge on a comfy chair as you view the Magic Kingdom fireworks through the lounge’s large glass windows and you won’t be disappointed.
