Holiday decorations are beginning to appear in Downtown Orlando. Along Orange Avenue, the “1st Annual Downtown Holiday Display Contest” has challenged businesses to decorate their windows and lobbies to help complete the festive appearance. The winner will be announced by Mayor Buddy Dyer on December 5th at the “Holiday Lights Orlando” event at City Hall Plaza, which culminates in the lighting of Orlando’s official Christmas tree.
If you’ve got a business in the designated area along Orange Avenue, make sure to have your decorations up by December 1st. For those of you planning to attend the festivities at City Hall, the night begins at 5:00pm with a 6:15pm scheduled tree lighting. More information about both of these events can be found on the City of Orlando website.
