We’ve been busy lately and getting information posted on some of the events going on around town has been lacking. Here are a few that sound interesting…
Martinifest
Hosted on Church Street in Downtown Orlando, Martinifest is a party celebrating the greatest American cocktail - the martini! You’ll be able to sample martinis of various flavors and ingredients and also have a say in which drink wins the “people’s choice” award. Pre-purchasing tickets is recommended and they can be purchased online through the Orlando Martinifest website. The cost is $30 per ticket.
Winter Bark Village
This year, The Orlando Museum of Art will play host to one of the most unique holiday spectacles of the season - Winter Bark Village - a collection of 20 designer dog houses that each feature unique architecture. The exhibit will run from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. each day, with special pet-friendly events taking place Saturday and Sunday. Dogs can get their photo taken with Hello Kitty on both days, and there will be a K-9 Kostume Parade at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The best-dressed dog will take home a prize. Architecture enthusiasts (or dog lovers) also can purchase the dog houses.
Holiday Harbor Nights Wine Tasting & Jazz
This event takes place on November 23 at the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando. According to the Universal website, Holiday Harbor Nights is “a wine tasting and jazz event designed to capture the ambiance of the Mediterranean. Featuring select wines, gourmet food samples, live jazz, and complimentary hand-rolled cigars, ‘Harbor Nights’ takes place under the twinkling lights of the hotel’s Harbor Piazza.” You’ll also have the chance to see the grand illumination of Portofino’s 50-foot tall Christmas tree.
For more information and reservations for Harbor Nights, call 407-503-1200.
If you have any pictures you want to share from these events, email them to fieldreport@livingorlando.com and we’ll post them in a gallery for all to see.
