The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back home this week with a game against the Tennessee Titans. So far, the Bucs are 2-0 at home and have looked excellent on both occasions. They dominated the Saints in week 2 winning 31-14 and then put a loss on the St. Louis Rams by the score of 24-3 in week 3. They’ve really exceeded my expectations with their style of play to this point. They’re no longer relying on short passes and a good running game to win games. Instead, they’re spreading the field by throwing deep and using multiple running backs to change the pace throughout the game.
As for the tailgating scene, it’s great to see the strong fan base that exists for Orlando’s nearest NFL team. While the area we tailgate in isn’t all that rowdy, there are definitely some big parties going on around the stadium before each game. This being our first year with season tickets, we’re joining a few friends for some burgers, dogs and beers before heading up to our upper-deck seats (picture above is from our seats).
If you’re heading to a Tampa game this year and have never been before, plan on leaving the Orlando area around 9:30am or so for a 1pm start. This will give you plenty of time to set up your tailgate and enjoy the festivities around the stadium. Parking can run from $5 to $30 depending on how close to the stadium you want to be. There are some side streets off Himes Road where residents let fans park in their yard for $15 or $20. I’ve parked in this area for both home games and have found it to be easy getting in and easy getting out after the game.
I’m not much on predictions, but this should be another good week for the Bucs. The Titans will be a great test with Vince Young leading the way, but I’m looking for a 31-19 victory for the home team.
Go Bucs!
