Stage shows at Walt Disney World

I’m a huge theater buff, so naturally I’ve seen the live stage shows at Disney theme parks tons of times. Each show is great, but for totally different reasons. Here’s a listing of what to look for:

Love princesses?
Beauty and the BeastThen head to “Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage!” This is a high-energy dance performance that features a lot of bright costumes and big song and dance numbers. Great for little girls who love princesses or anyone who loves dancing.
Park: Disney-MGM Studios

Love Disney characters?
Catch “Dream Along with Mickey,” a show that debuted in 2006 for the Year of a Million Dreams. This show is great for the whole family, and if you look closely, this is the first show that features high-tech characters with mouths and eyes that really move.
Park: Magic Kingdom

Want to be a part of the show?
Try “Festival of the Lion King,” which is performed multiple times a day in a circular theater. Each area offers a different view of the show. Dancers and acrobats literally perform right in front of your feet and all audience members are asked to clap and make animal noises, making you feel as if you’re part of the show.
Park: Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Have little ones?
Head to “Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!” to catch a performance by Disney Channel stars such as Stanley, Bear and the Big Blue House, and more.
Park: Disney-MGM Studios

Love puppets?
Finding Nemo”Finding Nemo - The Musical” is a menagerie of puppets, singers, dancers and acrobats that put on a great performance. This show is indoors in an airconditioned theater and is great for the whole family. The show features an original soundtrack and elaborate puppets built by the legendary puppet craftsman Michael Curry, which are amazing to see.
