Real Radio 104.1 sponsored events

I was listening to the Monsters in the Morning on Real Radio 104.1 today and learned about a few events that the radio station and morning show are either throwing or co-sponsoring over the next few weeks. Below are the details …

Monsters Championship Poker Series
With 200 players buying-in at $200 each, $40,000 will be paid out to the final ten competitors at this No-Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament at the Daytona Beach Kennel Club on Sunday, September 30th. Dirty Jim of the Monsters in the Morning radio show will host the event where the winner will walk away with $10,400. Everyone who enters the tournament, which starts at 1pm with registration beginning at noon, will receive a gift bag and access to a buffet. Just to note, the total buy-in is $235 with $35 going to the house. For more information, see the Monsters Championship Poker Series website.

Beertoberfest
The first annual “Beertoberfest” will be held on Church Street in Downtown Orlando on Saturday, October 6th from 4pm - 10pm. Sponsored by the local radio stations - Real Radio 104.1, JRR 101.1 and XL 106.7 - this is bound to be a wild party. In listening to the plans of the Monsters in the Morning, attendees will have the opportunity to show off their own custom made beer steins, vote for the next “Miss Monster” and see the Monster band in person. They are also trying to plan for Jim Philips (of the Philips Phile) to be the Grand Marshall and for the entire event to be kicked-off with a “tap run” around Lake Eola. Tickets are $10 at the door, but the beer is not included. For more information, see the Orlando Beertoberfest website.

13th Annual Harley Davidson Ride for Children
One thousand bikers will ride together in this annual benefit for Camp Boggy Creek on Sunday, October 14th. As a traditional camp for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses, Camp Boggy Creek depends on fund raisers like the Ride for Children to support their full schedule of activities including swimming, boating, fishing, dancing and more. The ride begins at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona and travels 50 miles to the camp’s home on Brantley Branch Road west of Deltona. For complete information, see the Ride for Children website.
