The 2007 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival officially kicks off this Friday, Sept. 28.
This by far is one of my favorite events of the year. The festival will run through Nov. 11 and will feature 25 international food booths, plus themed exhibits, including:
- The Pearville Fair, a slice of Americana featuring the variety and flavor of these favorite fruits.
- Peru celebrating the land of the Incas with Lima chefs and unique arts and crafts.
- Dominican Republic presenting entertainment by the Ballet Folklorico and rum cocktails.
- Twinings Tea Bar featuring rich tea history and a selection of refreshing iced teas.
- Andes Mountain Wine Bar offering a selection of varietals from Argentina and Chile.
- New 10-day experiences showcasing culinary and culture by Michoacan-The Soul of Mexico; Taste of Puglia, Italy and The Greek Wine Bar Island.
In addition to sampling international cuisine at the extra areas provided by the festival, you also may want to make reservations at Tutto Italia Ristorante, the new restaurant located in the Italy pavillion, which just opened Sept. 24. The Japan pavilion also will open two refurbished versions of their existing dining locations - Tokyo Dining and Tappan Edo - in October.
