The AST Dew Tour lands in Orlando this October, bringing with it some of the world’s greatest extreme action sports stars for the final event of the season. Athletes like Shaun White, Bucky Lasek, Anthony Napolitan and Nate Adams will compete in Skate Vert, Skate Park, BMX Vert, BMX Park, BMX Dirt and FMX (Freestyle Motocross) over the course of four days starting with practices and the prelims on Thursday, October 18th.

A few years ago, the names of these athletes would be familiar to only those who followed events like the Action Sports Tour. Nowadays, with the popularity of extreme sports at an all-time high, the phrase “Flying Tomato” actually means something to a lot of people. The X-Games brings extreme sports to our TV. The AST Dew Tour brings them to our hometown.

Being the fifth of five events, the Playstation Pro event here in Orlando should provide some excellent competition and drama as the final season standings are determined. The athletes are competing for more than $3.5 million over the course of a season, $1 million of which is based entirely upon the season finish.

For fans, the AST Dew Tour brings more than just the six competition events to each stop. According to their website, there will also be “an outdoor festival with video gaming, BMX and Skate interactive courses, as well as the two-story, 3,200 square foot House of Dew that features a DJ, an airbrush tattoo parlor and a movie theater.” There’s also the opportunity to meet your favorite action sports stars and to get their autographs.

The event will be held at the Amway Arena in Downtown Orlando and tickets are available through the AST Dew Tour website or TicketMaster. A four-day pass (three competition days plus Thursday’s qualifiers) is only $35 and includes admission to a concert on Friday night and access to the outdoor festival. Kids under 12 get in for a mere $5 per day.
