This week, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (located 1.5 hours outside of Orlando in neighboring Tampa) announced their newest endeavor – Jungala, scheduled to open in spring 2008.
Jungala will be a new four-acre section of the park that promises to connect visitors with the jungle through lush landscape, up-close animal interactions, multi-story family play areas, rides and live entertainment. This area will feature nice jungles touches, such as waterfalls and flowing waterways, as well as multi-tiered habitats that will allow visitors to view two of the world’s most endangered species – Bengal tigers and orangutans. Perched on a treetop observation platform you’ll be able to watch orangutans within their family groups, while subterranean caves and underwater windows will offer a view of tigers swimming in a temperature-controlled pool. These rainforest habitats will offer bridges and bamboo screens to give you a closer look at these predators, as well as the acrobatic gibbons, flying foxes and mysterious tomistomas that also make this rainforest habitat home.
Another treat Jungala will offer guests is two rides that will be added in this area of the park: a treetop zip line experience will offer three different flight patterns for youngsters and another ride will launch guests up above a towering waterfall. In addition, Jungala will feature a three-story climbing area, a children’s water-play area and two restaurants.
In short, Jungala is designed for families to enjoy together.
