Orlando’s newest football stadium, the Bright House Networks Stadium, home to the University of Central Florida Knights, will host its inaugural game on Saturday, September 15. While the state of Florida has long been know for its great football programs, such as the current college champs, University of Florida, and notorious pro teams, such as Miami, the city of Orlando itself has never had a strong football presence. While UCF is still a minor team by many standards, their season home game opener against Texas shows that UCF is a school looking to make their way up the prestige ladder. Whether or not they succeed in that goal, having such big name teams playing here in Orlando is a treat for locals, and for those here on vacation looking to watch some of their favorite teams out on the road.
UCF’s 2007 home football schedule is:
-
September 15 at 3:30 p.m. - Texas
-
September 22 at 3:30 p.m. - Memphis
-
September 29 at 6 p.m. - Louisiana-Lafayette
-
October 20 at 4 p.m. - Tulsa
-
November 3 at 3:30 p.m. - Marshall
-
November 24 at 12 p.m. - UTEP
