The Broadway Across America tour is coming back to Orlando and the Bob Carr Performing Arts center this year, starting in September with the production “Annie”. In addition to this opening act, the six-show tour also includes “The Wedding Singer”, “My Fair Lady”, “The Drowsy Chaperone”, “Monty Python’s Spamalot”, and “Wicked”.
As of today (August 23), individual tickets for the final two shows (Spamalot and Wicked) have sold out. This means you’ll have to purchase season tickets if you want to see either of the two most popular shows in the lineup this year. After seeing Wicked last year in Tampa, I’m guessing that many people will be happy to purchase the full season, especially with the quality of the other shows.
If you’ve never been to a performance at the Bob Carr, you’ll want to park at one of the garages on West Amelia, or use the valet service at the Mariott on West Livingston. Once inside, don’t expect anything too flashy. It’s an older building with only fair acoustics, but the shows are done well and the audience generally behaves themselves. This should be a completely different story in a couple years once the new performing arts center is built as part of the recently approved $1.1 billion downtown improvement project.

Just to note, Tampa is only a little over an hour away (by car), and they get a completely different line-up of shows than Orlando.
